Valve is in the update mania and has now already announced the next changes for the game. With the upcoming patch a graphic mode is supposed to come, which should relieve the RAM.
After big updates on grenades and other community requests, the Counter-Strike developer sends out the next small update. This time it’s about an extra texture/video mode, which should pre-buffer good textures until they have to be rendered. This should save workload in the RAM area.
In the CS:GO blog the pre-release notes were published. Besides the “Texture Streaming” there are some small changes in the process of texture calculation.
Today’s Pre-Release Notes are up. We’re shipping a beta depot titled “texture_streaming_beta” which allows the game to defer loading of high-resolution textures until they are needed for rendering. Full notes here: https://t.co/x0Pa8xqMmE

Currently the update only comes for the Beta Depot and is not integrated in the real game.
