The CS:GO Rookie of the Year is not only a star AWPer but also a discoverer of unfair bugs and glitches!

Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov is a 17-year-old exceptional talent in the tactical shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. As an AWPer for the organisation G2 Esports, he recently managed to win the 1 million dollar tournament IEM Katowice 2023 for himself and his team.

But in addition to launching his stellar Esports career, Ilya also attracts the attention of the CS community as a streamer and content creator.

Again and again, the young professional finds new tricks, bugs and glitches that were simply unknown to the majority of the player base. Although the game has been around for more than 10 years and continues to set new player records, m0NESY seems to have developed a flair for the physics of the game, finding new ways to gain an advantage over his opponents even on recently released maps.

Bug number 1: Silhouette effect

In this video you can see how m0NESY takes advantage of a bug using smoke grenades and HE grenades. Here he always uses the same line-ups to see the shadows of the enemies. However, this silhouette effect does not appear from the opponents’ point of view. So he can finish them off quickly and safely. This trick can be used in the same way on all maps in the game, as Ilya demonstrates again and again in similar videos.

Bug Number 2: Next Level One-Way Smokes

Smoke grenades can be thrown in such a way that players can hide in them and at the same time have a visual advantage over the opponent. This method is no longer a bug, but has become a legitimate feature in the pro scene.

Yet again, the 17-year-old has found a way to take it to the next level. With a deft line-up, his Smoke doesn’t land on the floor, but gets stuck on Mirage at head height of the window. Since m0NESY checked with the RMR Europe admins before the PGL Major to make sure this Smoke was allowed, there were no consequences for this abuse in the match against Imperial.

Bug number 3: Silent dropping

In some game situations it is important not to reveal information about your position to your opponent. But in some higher places it is almost impossible to change position quickly and above all silently. Here, too, m0NESY’s understanding of CS:GO stands out time and again. Such silent drops have only been seen by the most mechanically gifted players such as (ropz).

We are excited to see how many more tricks can come out of the glitch workshop m0NESY.
