Valve is offering a total prize purse of just over one million US dollars for the ten best artists in the “Dreams & Nightmares” contest.
The new CS:GO theme “Dreams & Nightmares” offers artists a chance to bring their own works into the shooter. Valve called on all artists on Twitter last Wednesday to submit themed weapon designs as part of a competition. Ten winners selected by Valve will see their work featured in the game and each will receive US$100,000 in prize money. Multiple submissions from one person are also possible.
Participants have until the closing date of 21 October to submit their artwork. The rights to submitted designs remain with the artists. To participate, however, a Steam account is required, on which a total of at least five US dollars worth of purchases must have already been made. All information about the competition can also be found on Valve’s official website

Valve aims to provide a stage for CS:GO players and artists who tirelessly contribute to Steam Workshop with the contest. “Many of the most iconic in-game items, maps and more have been created by members of the community. The ‘Dreams & Nightmares’ Content Contest is designed to help further support this community,” said Valve on the CS:GO blog.
