It”s a busy time for CD Projekt Red. On the one hand they have announced new info about Phantom Liberty, the DLC of Cyberpunk 2077. On the other hand, they have talked about the development of the Witcher project Codename Sirius.
In December last year, CD Projekt Red had released the first trailer for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Along with it, Idris Elba was introduced in the role of Solomon Reed. Since then, it has been quite quiet about the DLC. But now the Polish developer has announced more info for June this year. Could the Summer Game Fest 2023 have something to do with it?
But it”s not just the Cyberpunk franchise that has news to announce. CD Projekt Red also has a few words to say about the Witcher universe. During a conference call, the publisher talks about Project Sirius, which is being developed together with Molasses Flod. In the conference they explain that they decided to evaluate the project. Instead of abandoning it altogether, they will dare some experiments to remain competitive and innovative.
The new project is supposed to offer a multiplayer aspect in addition to the single player feature – a complete novelty for the Polish developer.
The CD Projekt Red projects at a glance
As CD Projekt revealed last October, there are currently several titles in the pipeline. To refresh your memory, here is a brief overview.
The Project Orion is a new title set in the cyberpunk universe A brand new CDPR studio in the USA has been commissioned with the development. In contrast, Project Hadar is an entirely new IP that is not yet in development. Instead, they are working on the basis of this.
Full steam ahead, CD Projekt Red is working on the further development of the Witcher universe In addition to Project Sirius , they are also working on Project Polaris, which is to be a completely new, three-part saga within the universe. The trilogy is to be released in a six-year span.
Last but not least, they are working with an as yet unknown studio on Canis Majoris, another Witcher game that will tell a story completely separate from Polaris.
When CD Projekt Red will present news about these projects is unfortunately not known. So let”s look forward to June for now.
