A new update for Cyberpunk 2077, Patch 2.2., was released today, adding a few new features. Here you will find an overview of all the patch notes.

Cyberpunk 2077 is in its final state and will no longer be provided with content. Well, this message has aged like milk. Because as announced via X, a new update for the sci-fi role-playing game will be released today, December 10, 2024.

Those hoping for a PS5 Pro upgrade or New Game Plus will be disappointed, however. Instead, there are some new features that allow you to live out even more in Night City.

The most important new features: Update 2.2. mainly provides some new customization options. You can see the most important of them here:

The most important information at a glance

  • New customizations: V has over 100 new customization options. A slider has also been added for randomization to determine how crazy the character should look.
  • Crystal Coat Technology: This technology can now also be used on vehicles from Herrera, Mizutani, Quadra and Villefort to change their appearance.
  • Twintone: With Twintone, you can copy the color scheme of another vehicle and apply it to your own. However, this only works with vehicles that are compatible with Crystal Coat.

    • Mizutani Shion MZ1

New features

  • Rayfield’s CrystalCoat™ technology, originally intended for Rayfield vehicles only, is now being used by other vehicle manufacturers. You can now change the paintwork of Herrera, Mizutani, Quadra and Villefort vehicles. A little tip: with CrystalCoat™, you can outsmart the police and lower your NCPD wanted level.
  • Kiroshi presents TWINTONE™! With CrystalCoat™ growing in popularity, TWINTONE™ is here to give you more options for your paint jobs. Simply scan a car with your Kiroshis, switch to the TWINTONE™ tab and save the car’s color scheme for a small fee. After that, you can select this color scheme in the TWINTONE™ database under CrystalCoat™. There you will also find all generic color schemes for CrystalCoat™-compatible vehicles, as well as unique color schemes that are available exclusively for the vehicle model from which they were copied. Note: Color schemes cannot be copied from vehicles that are bound to quests, owned by the NCPD, or not compatible with CrystalCoat™ technology.
  • All vehicles compatible with CrystalCoat™ and TWINTONE™ are marked with a spray can symbol on AUTOFIXER.
  • The ten most requested cars from the streets of Night City are now available for purchase on AUTOFIXER:

    • Mizutani Shion MZ1
    • Mizutani Shion Targa MZT
    • Thorton Galena GA32t
    • Thorton Colby CST40
    • Archer Quartz EC-L r275
    • Quadra Type-66 640 TS
    • Quadra Type-66 680 TS
    • Mizutani Hozuki MH2
    • Villefort Deleon V410-S Coupe (only Phantom Liberty)
    • Mahir Supron FS3-T (only Phantom Liberty)

  • After Act 1, Johnny will sometimes appear in the passenger seat when V is driving to comment on current events.
  • We have revised the photo mode and added numerous features that the community had requested:

    • The drone camera is now a free camera and not a camera orbiting V.
    • The range of the camera has been increased.
    • Full Collision (ON/OFF) – determines whether the camera respects object collisions in the game.
    • Lock Camera (ON/OFF) – locks the camera so you don’t ruin the shot by accidentally clicking.
    • Precise Camera (ON/OFF) – slows down the camera for easier aiming.
    • Aspect Ratio (PC only. Screenshots with customized resolutions are not available on consoles. Console systems can only export images in the standard 16:9 format.)
    • Characters tab: You can spawn up to 3 NPCs for your photo, choosing from over 20 characters
    • You can customize their facial expression, their posture and their position in the picture.
    • Lighting tab: spawns light sources and customizes them.
    • Fixed a ghosting issue with the depth of field.
    • Added an effect intensity slider.

  • SmartFrames™ by Kiroshi lets you display images from the in-game photo mode when you interact with the photo frames in Vs Apartments. View your photo collection in the new Gallery menu tab, found under Journal, Shard, and Tarot. The Gallery will pull.png images from the Screenshots folder on your PC or from your Console Gallery.
  • Added new customization options for V:

    • 32 Eye Color
    • 18 Lip Makeup Styles
    • 17 Nail Color
    • 10 Cheek Makeup Color
    • 16 Eye Makeup Styles
    • 4 Facial Scars
    • 5 Eyebrow Shapes
    • 4 Facial Tattoos
    • 2 Tattoos (Body)
    • 8 Options for Cosmetic Cyberware (Face)

  • The character generator now includes a slider from vanilla to punk. Whether you want a low-key, normal look or a daring, crazy style for V, this option helps you find the right balance.
  • More new secrets have been added to Night City for players to discover.

Quests & Open World

  • Quest objectives that required waiting for a period of time before continuing have been reworded. The game is designed so that players cannot simply wait in the game to continue the quest, but must actively continue playing to reach the next step of the quest.
  • Cyberpsycho Attack: Where the Bodies Hit the Floor – Fixed a bug where you couldn’t loot a shard from the Cyberpsycho, which prevented progress.
  • Dream on – Trauma Team’s AV on the roof is now properly hidden when in stealth mode.
  • Heroes— Fixed an issue where the quest would show as incomplete in the Journal after completion, and the optional “Talk to Padre” and “Talk to the Valentinos” objectives would still appear.

For Phantom Liberty

  • Balls to the Wall – Fixed an issue where an invisible wall would prevent players from exiting the elevator and talking to Yuri.
  • Firestarter – Fixed a bug where quick travel could be blocked if the player saved shortly after leaving Reeds’s car.
  • Job: Waiting for Dodger – Bill and Charles drive more cautiously after their rescue so as not to run over Dodger’s thugs; this avoids unnecessary fights.
  • Hi Ho Silver Lining – The VIP area in Heavy Hearts is now accessible to players who were unable to meet with Mr. Hands because a keycard was required for the elevator.
  • I’ve Seen That Face Before – The garage door blocking players from entering the meeting room is now open.
  • Run This Town – The elevator in Heavy Hearts is now working again, so V can finally meet with Mr. Hands.
  • Somewhat Damaged – Fixed a bug where the input to disconnect the cables from the neural network system was missing.
  • The Killing Moon – Fixed a bug where a wall would block the path when carrying Songbird to the shuttle.

Gameplay

  • Fixed the animation for one katana finisher to properly decapitate enemies.
  • Iconic Quickhacks Synaptic Burnout and System Meltdown now function as intended when
  • affected by the Memory Cost Reduction buff.
  • The icons for the 5+ and 5++ category behavior model faceplates are now visible on the HUD while driving.
  • Fixed a bug where Synapse Accelerator would remain active indefinitely when the player was spotted out of combat.
  • The car horn no longer sounds when the player reloads while in a vehicle fight and is using a controller.
  • Fixed a bug where the NCPD would sometimes stop working properly after V in Pacifica got involved in a shootout between the Voodoo Boys and Trauma Team.

Other

  • Fixed an issue where the audio from TVs would mute or be too quiet.
  • Fixed an issue where CrystalCoat™ would not be applied properly after entering a vehicle.
  • Due to frequent community requests, we have lowered the high scores for Trauma Drama
  • Vs mouth movements in various scenes have been adjusted, including in the endings.
  • Fixed a bug that would cause the NCART announcement audio to cut out at the Ebunike station.
  • Fixed V’s shadow ray tracing in photo mode.

On PC

  • You can now assign the W and S keys to different actions than their default settings in the vehicle category.
  • The threading system has been optimized to improve performance by up to 33% on Intel Arrow Lake-based processors.
  • Added more Razer Chroma effects to some sections in Phantom Liberty and romance scenes.

In addition, 18 developers are working on Project Hadar, a completely new CD Projekt IP about which almost no information is currently in circulation.
