How much playtime is in Phantom Liberty
How long will it take me to complete the main quest?
Before you start Phantom Liberty, you must first complete the main quest “Transmission” of the base game – this is the quest line of the Voodoo Boys. Only after that Songbird will contact you and you can enter the new area. To start a new game, you can also skip this part and start with a character at level 15, so you can start right away with the expansion. If you want to start completely from scratch, plan at least 10 hours for the main quest until “Transmission “
In Dogtown itself, a completely new main storyline awaits you. Depending on your playstyle, this will take about 20 to 25 hoursif you leave out all the other side quests, open-world activities and of course the main game.
If you’re more the cautious type of player, so you like to sneak up on enemies silently, then it may take you longer. With a swashbuckling build that is quick to jump into all the fray, you’ll be through a bit faster.
At one point you can’t avoid doing at least three side missions, but they are already included in the 20 to 25 hours.
How long will it take me to complete main and side quests?
If you want to look around a bit more, take in all the side quests and maybe even the one or other open-world activity like the parachute drops or the vehicle missions, then the game time increases to 30 to 40 hours – again, of course, it depends a lot on your play style. Do you prefer playing stealth or Rambo? Do you use a lot of fast travel or do you prefer driving through Night City? And and and.
Playtime includes quests and activities in Phantom Liberty alone, not in the main game.
Can I still go back after the main quest?
Yes, don’t let the ending credits scare you: Once you have completed the main quest of Phantom Liberty, you can return to Night City normally and continue playing New side missions will even be unlocked in Dogtown
How long will it take me to reach the epilogue?
Having completed all the conditions for the new ending, you will get a new point-of-no-return after the main quest of Phantom Liberty, which is a quest that marks the end and leads to the Epilogue. You should have completed everything you want to complete before this.
Good news for those who don’t want to replay the main game: You don’t have to return to the rest of the game if you don’t want to. The quest that leads to the new ending will be unlocked fairly quickly after the main story of the addon
So if you just focus on the main quest and then go straight to the end, you’ll be through in about 23 to 28 hours If you still want to take the side quests and other activities, you will see the end after about 33 to 43 hours
For our run-through with a completely new character from scratch, it took us about 40 hours in total. Some side quests were even left over in the process.
How high is the replay value?
From a big decision in the main story – which we don’t want to spoil for you, of course – the gameplay splits tremendously So players who chose option A will experience something completely different than players who chose option B.
The epilogue can also contain different little nuances depending on the missions you’ve already completed and the relationships you’ve made in Night City.
Even the small side missions sometimes present you with choices, which in turn can spawn new quests. This results in a high replay value for the addon
