After the release of Update 2.0, a complicated mystery was discovered in Cyberpunk 2077. It has not yet been fully solved.

Night City is a large city full of alleys, backyways, basements and secret doors. That you can discover some secrets in Cyberpunk 2077 should come as no surprise. With Update 2.0, more exciting Easter Eggs and puzzles are now added.

Not only can you discover a heartbreaking detail about Netflix series Edgerunners, but there is also a big secret that seems to be related to The Witcher.

Secret codes and an arcade game

Since the release of Update 2.0, fans in the FF06B5 subreddit have been puzzling over how their discoveries are related. A detailed summary of the finds so far can be found there, a bit shorter is the content creator Synth Potato on Twitter (now called X):

Let’s briefly list the most important parts of the puzzle and the connections to Witcher :

  • A message on an inconspicuous computer says that its author found the code FF:06:B5 in a game over 60 years old. Already here a connection to Witcher 3 is obvious, a game that would be 62 years old during the events of Cyberpunk 2077.
  • A little later, a new laptop was discovered on which characters from the language used in The Witcher can be found. Suspected to be related to a puzzle that came into play with The Witcher 3’s Next Gen update. The code had appeared here, just as it did earlier in Cyberpunk 2077.
  • In a new arcade game, the code also appears You play Johnny Silverhand here and fight your way through Arasaka Tower. How to find the game in the game, we show you here. Through a nearby server room you can unlock a secret level where the parts of a QR code are hidden. So far, however, only six of a total of nine have been found.
  • The author of a message is called Tyromanta This could be a reference to a crazy quest from Witcher 3 about predicting the future with the help of cheese, called Tyromancy

That there is a solution to the mystery and a reward is already clear by now: Via datamining, both were uncovered. However, the diligent fans will not be dissuaded from discovering the mystery in a honest way. If you want a reward now too, you ll be able to enter our Plus Sweepstakes and win a graphics card.

By the way, the puzzle is not the only connection between cyberpunk and The Witcher: In Witcher 3, Ciri talks about having seen a world where people have metal in their heads and everyone has a flying car.

What do you think about the very complicated Easter Egg? Do you also find such puzzles exciting and would like to solve them by yourselves? Or would that be too much effort for you? What do you think is behind the whole story? Should the worlds of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher be connected in the end? Or is the whole thing not beyond a joke? Write it in the comments!
