If you want to experience every story detail in Cyberpunk 2077, you absolutely must go against a certain contractor.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a multifaceted role-playing game in which it is almost impossible to experience all the story details. The release of the Phantom Liberty expansion has only exacerbated this problem.
There is one particular story snippet that only very few players will have experienced. To get it, you have to spare a certain character who really doesn’t make it easy for you.
Spoiler alert: Spoilers for the Phantom Liberty story will follow from this point forward. If you have not yet played the expansion, we recommend that you do not read any further.
Betrayal can pay off
In the missionDogtwon Saints
in Phantom Liberty, you are tasked with helping Dr. Anthony Anderson, a doctor who is being threatened by the scavenger Nikita Yankovich.
Nikita assumes that her brother Gaspar is in Anderson’s power. However, Anderson claims that Gaspar was already in a coma when he was admitted to his practice and died shortly afterwards. He did take his implants, but only to help other people. However, Nikita has serious doubts about the statement.
Your decision counts: The situation escalates and you are forced to make a momentous decision. Either you help Anderson and take out Nikita, who is pointing a gun at your charge, or you side with the scavenger and force the doctor to hand over a key.
Most players will probably choose the first option. But then you’ll miss a secret interaction If you side with Nikita instead, you can search for Gaspar’s body and confirm his death. By keeping Nikita alive, you can now meet her in Dogtown.
There she has created a grave for her deceased brother and sits in front of it looking sad. If you approach her, she will tell you some background information about her childhood and her relationship with Gaspar
If you don’t have the time or inclination to replay the game yourself, you can simply watch her in the following video of The Golden Neck You can find the escalation at 01:00 and the secret interaction and location on the map at 03:20.
With this mission, CD Projekt Red has once again shown that there are no wrong decisions in Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty. At most, they can feel wrong – but that’s probably more due to you. Before the story of V is told, you can look forward to the fourth installment of the fantasy role-playing series The Witcher.
