A leaked survey from Blizzard asks what price fans would pay for the new add-on and what content should be included
We still have a whole year to wait for the release of Vessel of Hatred the first paid addon for Diablo 4 More than enough time for Blizzard to think about what this addon actually contains and above all, what it will cost the player base.
The studio is apparently already thinking about both, as a survey was leaked a few days ago in which selected players can vote on four different cost options. Some of the ideas that emerged were almost audacious and the community is currently extremely upset about them.
Recently, the YouTuber (Bellular News) revealed the complete survey that was sent to him by an anonymous participant.
100 Dollar Addon and Pay2Win?
The price categories available for selection in the survey are absurd in places. In total, participants could choose between four options, each priced differently. The choices were:
- 50 dollars
- 70 dollars
- 80 dollars
- 100 dollars
Each option came with a whole range of different benefits that could be purchased in addition to the add-on content. These included, for example, different amounts of platinum, the in-game currency that you can use to buy new skins in the store.
But the offer to buy helpful gameplay benefits is getting really wild. For example, one option includes earlier access to new unique items or legendary aspects and even more space in the chest. A feature that fans have actually been asking for as a free update since release.
This is the complete leaked survey:

How our editor categorizes the survey
This all reads extremely dubious and seems as if Blizzard is testing the community’s pain thresholds. However, it should not be forgotten that this is a leaked survey that was not intended for the public and does not mean that any of the three models will be implemented in the end
It also seems hard to imagine in part because the options listed read rather oddly. For example, there often seems to be less in the 100-dollar version than in the other offers. You get a lot less platinum and no Battle Pass, for example
On the other hand, the 50-dollar version is supposed to include the complete basic game. Which seems absurd, if only because Diablo 4 still costs at least 70 dollars, at least at the moment. In the comments, the possibility was also pointed out that each survey participant would receive a random compilation of content in order to better classify its weighting
So don’t assume that these are the actual prices and content for the DLC! What’s really concerning, however, is that Blizzard is even thinking about some of the benefits mentioned. A statement was requested, but declined.
What do you think of this leaked survey? Do you think that Blizzard would never dare to use this form of monetization or is everything to be expected by now? Are there possibly even options that sound quite appealing in your opinion? Or is every single one of them unacceptable in your opinion? Let us know in the comments!
