The new season of Diablo 4 finally brings praise from the community again, but the Steam release is met with criticism.
After weeks of criticism, who would have expected to hear mostly praise from the Diablo community? But that’s exactly what’s happening right now. After Season 2 of Diablo 4 kicked off on October 17 with some teething problems, many fans are showing surprisingly positive sentiments on social media.
This is why Diablo 4 is getting praise now
After last season, there was actually widespread criticism for Blizzard and Diablo 4. People weren’t impressed with the season of nastiness and were annoyed that many areas of the action role-playing game weren’t yet up to the level they would have actually wanted from a new Diablo. The endgame in particular was criticized quite a bit.
The community is finally reacting positively to Season 2 and the new patch 1.2.0. On Reddit, there are several threads in which Diablo 4 is praised for these new seasons. Thus writes the (Thread creator Gabby_Stx):

Bugs aside (which I’m sure will be fixed soon), Season 2 has done nothing but make me want to play more. I am very hopeful for the future of Diablo 4
In the responses, many users agree with this assessment. In addition to the higher monster density, they also praise the fact that heroes now bag both gold and experience points much more efficiently and quickly. In addition, most players are satisfied with the vampiric powers that came into play as a seasonal theme.
Another very positive thread revolves around the changes to mounts. Here, the (thread creator AirsoftDaniel) writes:
The updates to the mount are perfect

Feels like I’m flying over the map! What I like most now is the feeling of jumping off the horse into an event and attacking. I didn’t even get stuck on a pebble or twig, and the barrier breaker works well and looks epic. Credit where credit is due, Blizzard. You’ve mastered it this time. 10/10
We’re currently working on our own review of Season 2 of Diablo 4 and a post-game review of the main game. Then you can also find out here how well we currently like Diablo 4.
The world looks different on Steam
A different picture, however, is painted (the Steam page) by Diablo 4. Since October 17, the action role-playing game has also been available on Valve’s platform and, as was the case with Overwatch 2, the community directly gives free rein to its frustration in the user reviews.
Currently Diablo 4 is on Balanced
here, because only 58 percent of the reviews are positive. However, the truth also includes that only 363 people have even written a review so far. So at the moment, the amount of reviews is not really representative.
Now it’s your turn! What is your current impression of Season 2 and Diablo 4? Are you having fun with the Season of Blood or are you still rather critical? Let us know in the comments!
