Patch 1.1.0 was a complete disaster for many fans. With the latest update, however, the reactions are much more positive.
After the unpopular patch 1.1.0, some fans of Diablo 4 struck almost apocalyptic tones: The update had ruined the game , they even said. After the developers finally promised never to release such a patch again, the next big patch was released yesterday. And almost surprisingly, this one is causing a lot of excitement.
What does patch 1.1.1 change?
There are a lot of bigger and smaller innovations, bug fixes and balance changes in the update. Here are some of the most important points:
- Barbarians and wizards will be strengthened.
- Treasure goblins and dungeon bosses are guaranteed to drop Legendaries above a certain level.
- More enemies await you in Nightmare Dungeons and Hellfloods.
- You can teleport out of dungeons faster again.
- There is more space for items and elixirs.
What are the fans saying about patch 1.1.1?
While (the first reactions) to the patch notes were still mixed, many fans are happy about many changes after playing patch 1.1.1 for the first time. For example, (Endgame Addict) writes on Twitter (respectively X):
Lots of great changes! Loving new stash tab and more monster density and tougher bosses (though they shouldve gone further with the boss buff).
Sorc paragon board is much better now.
Treasure gobs also better.
Every change in this patch was a step in right direction.

Many great changes! Love the new chests tab, higher monster density and stronger bosses. […] Wizard’s Paragon board is much better now. Treasure goblins are better too. Every change in this patch was a step in the right direction.
Many players on Reddit also notice the higher monster density. For example, (AlmostProGaming) writes:
Holy hell the new density in NM dungeons is amazing.

Holy hell, the new [monster] density in nightmare dungeons is great. I played for an hour and love it. While I wish they would have reversed the changes in experience points […], overall I think it’s a win.
Similar enthusiasm is generated by Hellfloods, which also benefits from more monsters and guaranteed Legendaries with Treasure Goblins. (Emotional_Engine9) writes a longer post on this:

So far, the new hellfloods of patch 1.1.1 are great. I’ve been enjoying the [monster] density and the ember droprate. […] It doesn’t force you to just do events all the time to get as much embers out as possible, instead it gives you an incentive to just run around and farm.
I also didn’t have to use my mount at all while farming, only once I had enough embers and wanted to open chests further away. Anyway, my thanks to the Diablo team for listening to the community and making meaningful changes.
In contrast, (TorbaldTheDestroyer) notices a rather minor change, but one that probably left a lasting impression:

THE HORSE IS FASTER, HOLY SH****!
The sometimes rather lame mount, which moreover could not even break through barricades (but now should), has been a point of criticism among fans for quite some time.
Overall, it seems that the changes in favour of nightmare dungeons and hellfloods are a topic of conversation among many fans, the same goes for the better chances to get legendary items. The Diablo 4 subreddit, which was recently criticised for its negativity, seems to be in a much more positive mood right now.
What do you think of patch 1.1.1 so far? Do you like the changes for wizards and barbarians, or do you enjoy nightmare dungeons and hellfloods more now? Are you taking a break from Diablo 4 and playing the just released Baldur’s Gate 3? And what should Blizzard patch next? Feel free to write it to us in the comments!
