Some players complain that the game world offers no more challenges after a certain point, but they also provide ideas on how to change that.
While there are plenty of things to do in the open world of Diablo 4, some members of the community feel that these activities eventually become quite boring. On Reddit, a player has now made specific suggestions as to how developer Blizzard could make more out of the entire game world.
»The open world is just a placeholder«
Once you’ve reached a certain level of power with a character in Diablo 4, a large part of the open world becomes pretty boring. At least that’s the opinion of Reddit user ThatsFer, but in his post he also explains how this could change.
☻
The problem is said to be this: According to ThatsFer, for a character at pit level 80 , the point is reached where “the rest of the game becomes twice as boring”.
The bosses are no longer a challenge, you just fly through the Undercity and the Nightmare Dungeons feel “like the tutorial”.
But for characters with this strength, there would also be no reason to travel to the open world , which would then be “just a placeholder” for the Helltides and the seasonal Realmwalker event.
The open world should become more exciting again
ThatsFer’s idea is to equip the individual zones of the game world with different levels of difficulty from level 4 onwards, which correspond to a certain level of the Pit.
The areas directly around the cities should then contain opponents that correspond to Pit level 70 The farther a zone is from a city, the higher the pit level should be, with a maximum of 100.
In addition, he suggests temporary “weather effects”such as sandstorms or snowstorms for the level 100 areas, to match the climate of the zone. These weather effects should have additional negative effects, such as the constant loss of health points, and thus correspond to pit level 110 or higher. Such effects already exist within the context of a certain main quest.
What would this change?
Those who want to reach Paragon level 300 usually just keep playing higher and higher levels of the Pit. The simple reason: that’s where most of the experience points are.
With ThatsFer’s idea, there would be this many XP in the open world too and players would have a reason to pursue activities in the open world again. The player also suggests adjusting the loot to match the pit levels to create further motivation.
While some players like AtlasWriggled like the suggestions and believe that Blizzard is “wasting a lot of potential,” other players take a critical view.
OG_Relwinter; namely, he doesn’t believe in a realistic use, even though he likes the idea in principle and writes: “No matter what you change at the endgame, players will always choose the activities that are optimal for leveling and farming gear. This looks good on paper, but to me it seems like a waste of development time.”
Officially, there are currently no plans on Blizzard’s part to change anything in the open world.
