You won’t have to wait much longer for Season 1 of Diablo 4 . But with Patch 1.0.4 a new update has already been released, which brings a few important changes with it. So a whole range of bug fixes are being played out, while your chances of getting Unique Loot are significantly improved … even if the improvement has brought its own problems

When is the update available?
Patch 1.0.4 for Diablo 4 is already here and was released on the night of June 6-7, 2023. The download should already be available on all platforms.
How big is the download?
Update 1.0.4 is 200 MB large, so you should have downloaded the patch quickly.
What’s in patch 1.0.4?
Finally better chances for Uniques: If you want to optimise your build, it shouldn’t be quite so tough anymore with patch 1.0.4 in Diablo 4. From now on, all Helltide Chests or Hellflood Chests can spit out unique items – previously this was not the case and you had to resort to World Bosses or Nightmare Dungeons on difficulty Torment or higher to do so.
This should make the so-called Helltide/Hell Tide events, which you unlock by reaching World Tier difficulty Nightmare, much more attractive. In fact, General Manager Rod Ferguson has personally admitted that he wasn’t aware that there was no chance of Uniques on Hell Tide Chests before.
But beware! Apparently there were new problems with Helltide Chests with patch 1.0.4. Community Manager PezRadar revealed on Discord (via Reddit) that Uber Unique Drops (the really super rare stuff) had to be disabled because of this. For a lucky few, they probably came out of the Hell Flood boxes too often.
Now these six Uber Unique Items are no longer dropping for the time being. A hotfix is expected to follow on Friday afternoon – more info on this can be found in our dedicated message on the topic.
A whole range of bug fixes: Update 1.0.4 delivers a proud list of bug fixes that would go beyond the scope of this article. Therefore we have summarised the complete patch notes for you on page 2 of this article. But this much in advance: The patch addresses all kinds of bugs in gameplay, co-op, quests and even the HUD.
Season 1 of Diablo 4 is coming
There’s a whole truckload of solid information about Season 1 of Diablo 4. The game kicks off on July 20, 2023 and you should be able to let off steam for a total of 12 weeks in the season.
