Even though Shadow of the Erdtree will be released in just a few days, only a third of Steam players have fulfilled the requirements. The community now wants to change that

Shadow of the Erdtree, the first addon for the SoulslikeElden Ring, is already in the starting blocks. However, you have to defeat two tough bosses before you can start it

As the community has discovered, this has not yet been done by many players. That’s why some Souls veterans have now made it their mission to change this and help the people concerned.

We are taking up arms

To be able to start Shadow of the Erdtree, you must defeat the mighty optional bossStar Scourge Radahnas well asFragment Bearer Mohg. However, this is not so easy for many players. While Radahn doesn’t seem to be a major obstacle, just 38.8 percent of players on Steam&nbsphave managed to put a stop to Mohg

There are probably three reasons for this: First of all, he is optional as a boss and is therefore not needed to finish the game. Another problem is that he is quite difficult to find. And once you’ve reached him, he’s actually not that easy to kill. And this is where the community comes into play

The low completion rate was also noticed by the content creatorSekiro Dubi. He promptly took advantage of his reach on X (formerly Twitter) and called on the community to help players affected by the powerful boss

He even addressed the Elden Ring legendTsuboiKleinaka Let Me Solo Her directly. Although he did not respond, his heroic deeds in helping against Malenia, the hardest boss in the game, were taken as an example. Other players promptly got in touch and have been offering their help ever since

The userUlysseswrites, for example:

We’ll take up arms, don’t worry!

Similarly expressed by the userCaptainHindsight:

That’s pretty much what I’ll be doing for the next few days.

It’s impossible to say how much of an impact the call will actually have. Since June 11, 2024, the percentage of Steam players who have beaten Mohg has increased by0.1 percent, but this is probably due to the general announcement of the requirements.

Shadow of the Erdtree not only provides you with a new area and associated monsters and bosses, there are also completely new weapon types. The addon will be released on June 21, 2024
