Actually, launch of the Web App in FIFA or EA Sports FC 24 always provides enthusiasm. This year, however, EA Sports has ruined it mightily
As every year with FIFA, EA Sports has also FC 24 released a web app before the release of the actual game: Here you could always set tactics, complete initial tasks, earn players and coins and trade on the transfer market in previous years.
This year, however, the web app is mainly causing frustration, because shortly before the launch of the web app, the developers torpedoed the launch with questionable decisions.
This is how the web app release went down the tubes
This is what happened: Many players use the Web App to prepare their team for the release and get started right away in Ultimate Team mode. But this year, EA Sports has made it nearly impossible for players to do that
- The Loyalty Packs that returning players normally get each year have been eliminated without replacement – because EA Sports FC 24 is, after all
a new game
even though it plays almost exactly like FIFA 23. - In order to even earn a few coins for trading, players have to get rid of their crests and jerseys via quick sale.
- The rewards from Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) were killed by EA shortly before the web app was released by making them
non-tradable
. Influencers who were able to play as early as Tuesday were still able to get the rewards in theirtradable
version.
Advantage for Influencers: Not only do both changes result in the transfer market being much emptier this year before release, but it also gives Influencers who were able to start playing before the Early Access launch on Friday an even greater advantage.
Not only can they already earn coins and invest real money by completing games, while ordinary mortals hardly have a chance to do so due to the limited trading potential.
Also, they’ve gotten much better rewards for the SBCs, since they can simply resell non-useful players – and because the transfer market is so empty, even junk players can fetch much higher prices than in previous years.
It’s especially difficult for PC players: Since this year’s Influencer Early Access is only on consoles and not on PC, the transfer market here is ultimately as if extinct. You can only expect things to improve when the game enters Early Access for owners of the Ultimate Edition at 6 a.m. on Friday, September 22. That’s when they will spend their FC Points and flood the market with cards.
