Adjustable walking speed, HyperMotion Technology and better A.I.: These upgrades are presented in the new trailer for FIFA 22.

Electronic Arts released a brand new gameplay trailer for FIFA 22 on Thursday. We have summarised the most important new mechanics and game changes of the trailer for you.

HyperMotion Technology

The trailer focuses on HyperMotion Technology. This is a new method of motion capture and thus the basis for animations. The movements of real football players are recorded simultaneously and combined with machine learning features. The new technology is only available for the latest generation of consoles, i.e. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The trailer then goes on to list the following benefits provided by HyperMotion.

Team-authentic movement: EA promises the biggest change for animations in FIFA history. Until now, players’ movements were only recorded individually. Now all 22 players can be recorded simultaneously. This means 4000 new animations are available and the interactions with each other and as a team are said to be more authentically portrayed.

Machine-Learning: Through a new system even more animations can be created. This allows you to adjust your cadence in real time for the first time in FIFA 22.

Tactical A.I: The computer controlled opponents will probably also get an upgrade and can make up to six times more decisions per second than in previous parts.

Composed Ball Control: In addition there will be more ball control for the player in FIFA 22 with several playing techniques to receive the ball for example.

Player Humanization
: With the simultaneous shots of the football players, the interactions of the game characters could also be refined. Facial expressions are more human and players point at each other, for example.

In addition to these larger points, the trailer also touches on other benefits. The ball physics are said to be improved,  new tactics for strikers are developed and the speed when sprinting can be adjusted.
