EA Sports has given full details in the Pitch Notes about the adjustments of the skill moves in FIFA 22. The implementation of the First Time Skill Moves could change the game.
“The main goal is to balance the skill moves and make them effective if executed correctly,” reads EA Sports’ July 30 pitch notes on FIFA 22, adding that the publisher has taken player feedback to heart and made changes accordingly for the title, which is due out in October.
In addition to the “First Time Skill Moves” feature and changes to the existing skill moves, four new techniques will be introduced in FIFA 22. However, these moves have not yet been shown.
Four new skill moves are coming to the game
– Four Touch Turn: Hold L2/LT and flick the RS backwards twice.
– Skilled Bridge: Hold L2/LT and double press R1/RB
– First Time Spin: Hold L1/LB and R1/RB as the ball comes towards the player for the first time.
– Scoop Turn Fake: Hold LS in the opposite direction after a forward Scoop Turn
Changes to the skill moves relate to, among other things, the cancellation of individual moves or new animations.
Changes of the Skill Moves in FIFA 22
– Abort removed from skill moves La Croquetta, Elastico, Reverse Elastico and Scoop Turn.
– Reduced animation speed for Bridge and Directional Nutmegs
– Abort is possible for Drag Back Spin, Four Touch Turn and Stepovers (LT and RT)
– Drag to Drag can be activated by holding the right analogue stick backwards
– Heel to Heel is more difficult to implement
– New animations for Directional Nutmeg 90 degrees
In addition, skill moves will be able to be used under new conditions. With the help of the “First Time Skill Moves” feature, it is now possible to execute the special moves on the first contact with the ball – provided that the ball is moving towards the player. In the past, this was only possible with fake shots.
First Time Skill Moves bring new dynamics into the game
However, there will be exceptions as to which skill moves can be executed on first contact with the ball. Stepovers, body feints and bridge and directional nutmeg are not possible in this respect.
In order to counteract the foreseeable speed of this technique in advance, the skill moves to be used will be more difficult to control than is the case with dribbling. In addition, it is not possible to use the First Time Skill Moves when passing into the run.
