EA Sports released an update on Thursday regarding the upcoming title FIFA 22. Among other things, Early Access for EA Play members was announced. Also new is the Featured Team of the Week.
Two weeks before the release of FIFA 22 the information about ingame content is increasing. The Pitch Notes from Thursday give new insights. In addition, publisher EA Sports gives September 22 as the launch date for Early Access in FIFA Ultimate Team.
“EA Play members will begin their FUT 22 adventure with a 10-hour trial starting September 22,” announced FUT Product Manager Jamey Cane in the Pitch Notes. PC players will therefore have full access to FIFA Ultimate Team for a limited time from next week Wednesday. The pre-orderers of the Ultimate Edition will be able to use all features already from 27 September – that means four days before the release. FIFA 22 will be officially released on 1 October.
During the Early Access phase, players will receive additional player items and have the opportunity to get an exclusive Ones-To-Watch card. This can be unlocked via the Squad Building Challenge. Meanwhile, the regular OTW items will be available on launch day. In addition, the FUT Companion App will be available for web and mobile from 22 September.
Featured Team of the Week gives weaker cards upgrade
The brand new “Featured Team of the Week” will give a special boost to one TOTW player per week. Instead of just receiving a standard boost from Team of the Week, the featured player in question will receive a larger boost and will be marked with a star above their overall rating.
To be eligible for the new TOTW mechanic, a card must have a base rating of 80 or less. In addition, these cards must not have OTW versions or similar live items. Featured Team of the Week cards will continue to be considered Inform cards and will also be usable for SBCs, for example.
FUT Heroes, Icons and Preview Packs
EA Sports has additionally announced that all cards from the brand new FUT Heroes will be available at launch on 1 October. Meanwhile, one player is still missing from the icons, which will be announced in the near future. There will also be the popular Icon Swaps and Icon SBCs again. Once again, there will be four versions for each icon card (Base, Mid, Prime and Moments).
The Preview Packs, which already celebrated their debut in FUT 21, are also included in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team. At the launch of the new title, there will be a preview for 24 hours for Gold and Silver Packs before a new Preview Pack with other content can be viewed before purchase after the timer expires.
For those who have already participated in the FUT 22 Pre-Season in FIFA 21, they will receive their rewards from 12 October. Until 12 November, users:inside can collect their in-game items by logging into FUT 22.
