Officially FIFA 22 will be released on Friday, October 1st. Those who have pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition or have a subscription to EA Play can already take to the digital pitch. Youtuber JCC did the same and found out that there is a simple Trick that exploits an AI error and with which you can easily outplay the opposing team in the game.
How the exploit works in FIFA 22
JCC didn’t come up with the move himself, but first witnessed how his opponent played the exploit in an online game, even if he didn’t succeed. The Youtuber then copied the behaviour and was amazed at how easy it is to score goals this way. However, there must be at least two of you to perform the manoeuvre, so it is of no use in single-player modes.
Kick-offTrick in FIFA 22: If you are awarded a kick, a user with a striker has to stalk as close as possible to the opponent’s goal. The AI in FIFA is not programmed to track this, but stays in its default formation. The tee shot should come to exactly this player, who can then move freely towards the goalkeeper, as there is no opponent far and wide.
This is why the exploit works: There is no offside in football at the kick-off, so a striker does not have to be in front of a defender (he is just not allowed to enter the opponent’s penalty area). As a rule, however, this is not an adequate means, since the goalkeeper or defence can easily intercept such a ball, which is difficult to play at this distance anyway. Unless the defenders are FIFA AI.
Glitch already existed in FIFA 21: For JCC the trick was new, but in the comments under the video it becomes clear that the exploit from FIFA 21 has made it into the new spin-off. For some users this is the proof that EA delivers the same product every year without testing the gameplay and possible bugs extensively.
JCC says it has already contacted EA, but has not yet received any feedback. So it could well be that the exploit will remain for quite a while.
FIFA 22 has better goalkeepers
But not every AI in FIFA 22 is as stupid as last year. At least the goalkeepers have received further training and now hold up much better. While the keepers aren’t quite as superhumanly good in the final release as they probably were in the beta, their behaviour has definitely taken a leap forward. With the exploit described above, however, even the keepers can’t do much.
Do you know some tricks with which you almost always score in FIFA?
