In the meantime we can already look forward to some FIFA 23 details. Among others gameplay, women”s football, crossplay and more
As expected, the last EA Sports offshoot with the name FIFA 23 will be released on 30 September 2022. From next year on the title will be called EA Sports FC. We show you which features of FIFA 23 are already known.
FIFA World Cup in FIFA 23
There will be two World Cup modes in the current FIFA game, as both the Men”s World Cup (end of 2022) will take place in Qatar and the Women”s World Cup (2023) in Australia and New Zealand.
Both tournaments will be available as an update without additional costs. More information is to follow. However, you will not only be able to play the Women”s World Cup in World Cup mode.
Women”s club football in FIFA 23
Women”s national teams have already been around for a few FIFA parts. However, clubs like Manchester City W.F.C. are brand new. In FIFA 23, the Barclays FA Women”s League and Division 1 Arkema (Division 1 Féminine) will be integrated. The HyperMotion2 capturing of the women is supposed to make the animations in women”s football much more realistic. A plus for the gameplay.
Gameplay in FIFA 23
Of course EA Sports promises us again this year that the gameplay has developed noticeably. On their site they divide this chapter into three areas: HyperMotion2 technology, cross-play and ”other gameplay features.
We have already written about the HyperMotion2 technology in our trailer analysis.
Cross-Play was already tested in FIFA 22 and is a long awaited feature of the FIFA community. So in FIFA 23 it should be possible to play on PC, Stadia, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S cross-platform and on the old gens PS4 and Xbox One among each other.
In addition, the following modes (excluding co-op) shall be cross-playable:
- FUT Division Rivals
- FUT Champions
- FUT Online Draft
- FUT Online Friendlies
- FUT Play a Friend
- Online Friendlies
- Online Season
- Virtual Bundesliga
Here we have another graphic to illustrate the interaction.
For FIFA Ultimate Team players the following information will also be of importance:
The FUT 23 transfer market will also be cross-platform. Excluded from this are PC and Switch players:in, who will each continue to have their own market.
This feature will certainly be well received, but it is not the end of the story. Under “other gameplay features” are listed shooting mechanics, penalties, corners and free kicks, which we should learn more about soon.
The deep dives on EA”s site read very positively. By 30 September at the latest, the FIFA community will be able to form its own opinion. Which version would be the right decision for you, you can read here
