Worst game ever on Steam

Konami’s new football simulation breaks the first negative record directly after release. According to reviews on Steam 250, eFootball leads the so-called “Hall of Shame”.

Konami has scored an own goal. Instead of presenting a good successor to the PES series, fans are making long faces. Because the partly scary faces, faulty animations and numerous bugs in the game bring downright laughter to the football simulation. Currently, the new title is one of the weakest games ever rated.

The rating site Steam 250 analyses ratings of video games and lists eFootball at number 1 in its own “Hall of Shame”. 90 percent of the almost 17,000 users gave the football simulation a negative rating. This makes eFootball the sad leader in this category, replacing Flatout 3: Chaos & Destruction. The racing game has 85 per cent negative ratings from almost 3,000 users. The individual rating comments on Steam also speak volumes for the devastating response and ill will of the players.

Numerous community posts on Twitter have highlighted eFootball’s problems. There are plenty of distorted and sometimes disfigured faces among players and spectators, and completely failed gameplay animations and missed video sequences are also more common.

Konami apologised last Friday for the massive problems with the game, which was officially released as a free-to-play title a day earlier. “We take the concerns seriously and are making every effort to improve the current situation,” the official statement reads. An update is due later this month.

The tweet from “In My Old School” has also received a lot of response. In the video, the Portuguese national team is shown singing the anthem, however, a majority of the players are missing. The angry Twitter user calls Konami “useless”, among other things. He also added: “They killed two of their most famous series (Pro Evolution Soccer and Silent Hill) and mixed them together to create a horror game with a touch of football. “
