Paris Saint-Germain has officially signed Lionel Messi and thus the question arises how strong the long-time Barca icon will be in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team. The same goes for Sergio Ramos. Special cards can be expected for both players.

Special cards of the category “Ones to Watch” – OTW for short – always cause a stir at the beginning in FIFA Ultimate Team. Top players who change between seasons receive these promo cards with increaseable values. Accordingly, they are also valuable at the start of FIFA 22. The latest title from EA Sports comes on the market on 1 October.

One of the biggest transfers of the summer are undoubtedly the living legends Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos. Their moves to top French club Paris Saint-Germain have been the talk of the town in recent days and weeks. We speculate on what their OTW cards might look like in FUT 22.

Ones-to-Watch cards are just as powerful as each player’s gold cards at the start of each FIFA title. However, the appeal of dynamic promos is that they can improve. For example, if Lionel Messi receives an in-form card in a Team of the Week, the values of the OTW promo will adjust accordingly. For FIFA 22, we speculate on bluish card designs with a red secondary hue like in FIFA 19.

In FUT 21, Messi received a 93 overall rating. This should hardly be able to get worse over the course of the past season. After all, the Argentine scored 38 goals and provided 14 assists in 47 competitive games for FC Barcelona. Thus, the 34-year-old has once again proven his offensive skills.

In FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, we can therefore continue to expect a 93 rating for the man who won the Copa America for the first time with his home country in the summer. However, his speed should be improved. Because the 85 pace from FUT 21 did not do justice to the nimble attacker and should be corrected to 87. Instead, a 93 dribbling speed would also suffice.

For Sergio Ramos, we think there will be some sacrifices. With Real Madrid, the clearer could not match the performances of past years. In contrast to his gold card in FUT 21, the Spanish defensive giant deteriorates by one overall value and accordingly also loses something in the subcategories. Nevertheless, Ramos should be one of the desired candidates alongside Messi as a PSG newcomer in FIFA 22 when it comes to the infamous Pack Luck.
