According to an insider, EA Sports is currently working with FIFA on plans for a new eSports competition in FC 24. Official confirmation is expected shortly

Just a few months after the start of the EA Sports FC era, FIFA and EA Sports are apparently in negotiations again. However, they are not about the lost naming rights.

Instead, the world football association and the video game company are said to be working on the implementation of a completely new competition for the eSports scene in FC 24 – but what exactly is it about?

This is what’s behind the renewed collaboration between FIFA and EA

After the end of the long-standing partnership, EA Sports was forced to fundamentally revise the competition structure of the Global Series. With the loss of the naming rights, it was already clear that the three FIFA-organized world championships (FeWC, FeCWC, FeNC) would no longer return in their familiar form. Among the pros, however, this was seen as a chance for a better future, as FIFA is said to have always limited the publisher’s options.

The hope for more offline tournaments and higher prize money was quickly dashed with the announcement of the new eSports program “FC Pro”. Instead, the individual discipline was cut back further and the international team competitions were even scrapped completely. According to an insider, however, there is once again reason for hope.

As the user “EAFCeSportsInside”, who has already been right with his predictions several times, reported via X (formerly Twitter), the two big players are said to be negotiating the relaunch of a global nations’ competition in 2024. According to his information, however, unlike its predecessor, this will no longer be played in 2v2, but in 1v1.

In a later update, the insider even revealed that the organization of a European Championship in FC 24 is already a done deal. The official announcement is to be made shortly. Some of the participating nations are said to have already chosen their players. Further information on the other continents will be announced soon
