The action adventure game Eternal Strands shows its first trailer. In addition to magic and weapons, we are also supposed to use the world itself for combat
About four years ago, the former lead developer of the first Dragon Age games, Mike Laidlaw, founded a new studio called Yellow Brick Games. Now the developers are showing what they have been working on for the first time. The action adventure game Eternal Strands, which lets us fight giant monsters in a fantasy world, was announced with a trailer.
What makes Eternal Strands so special?
In Eternal Strands we play the young warrior Brynn, whose mission is nothing less than to save the homeland of her people. This is apparently threatened by all kinds of monsters, some as tall as towers, which we take down with magic and an arsenal of different weapons
The trailer, in which we climb up one of the giant enemies, gives you a first impression of the battles:
The game’s great specialty, however, is how it combines your magical powers with a physics system. Fire, for example, can spread across dry meadows and forests and destroy enemies in its path. Burning tree trunks can then also be thrown at monsters using telekinesis. Barriers can also be cleared out of the way by fire.
Our ice abilities, on the other hand, are more effective in the cold and allow us to block attacks, immobilize enemies or build a path across a seemingly insurmountable ravine. The promised next-generation physics system
is designed to reward creativity in exploration and combat.
We can discover the capital of Dynevron, the secrets beneath
, as well as the surrounding wilderness. Thanks to a climbing system, we can move around the world quite freely. However, it is not yet known whether this is an open world
But when can we play Eternal Strands? A release is currently planned for 2025. The action-adventure game will then be released via Steam for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
