The leaker “Fut Sheriff” announced on Monday that Xabi Alonso will appear in FUT 23. This move by EA Sports would be understandable: the defensive midfielder was part of the golden generation in Spain. With the national team he became European champion twice (2008 and 2012) and world champion once (2010) within four years.

Fut Sheriff has already been right with this kind of leaks in the past with countless examples. However, there is still no official word from EA Sports regarding Xabi Alonso’s legend card.
The stats shown in the leak should also be taken with a grain of salt. However, the 87 overall rating is not outstanding. However, the defensive and physical values relevant for a defensive midfielder are correspondingly high. His pace value seems unusually strong because the previous gold cards rarely had a 70 rating or better.
The last time Xabi Alonso was playable was in FIFA 17 Ultimate Team. At that time, the Spaniard finished his career in FC Bayern Munich kit and receives an “End of an Era” card. Since then, many fans of the now 40-year-old have wished for an icon variant in FUT and developed unofficial concepts. He experienced his most successful club times with Liverpool FC and Real Madrid. With both traditional clubs, he won the UEFA Champions League once each.
