FUT 22 is getting more and more player ratings and data. But there are more names than just Messi and Mbappé in the French elite division.
Ligue 1 is more than ever dominated by Paris Saint-Germain’s star ensemble. Alongside newcomers Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos, other league rivals are stocked with good players, but mostly fall more noticeably behind.
While FIFA cover star Kylian Mbappé remains one of the strongest players in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, the French world champion has been pushed off the top of Ligue 1 by Lionel Messi’s move to his club. Despite this, Mbappé is a top candidate for a meta-team’s forward due to his high stats in pace (97) and dribbling (92). As in FUT 21, Monaco’s goal scorer Wissam Ben Yedder is a cheaper alternative. The latter’s stats have remained almost the same, and his 84 total is even identical.

The large number of very different top players as in the Premier League, however, is missing in France’s Beletage. Strikers like Gaëtan Laborde fall off the grid due to low shooting and dribbling scores (78). At least Renato Sanches’ stats look promising. The central midfielder of champions OSC Lille convinces with strong physicality and high speed (84). Especially at the beginning of FUT 22, the Portuguese is a starting option.
If you are also a little lucky to get Sergio Ramos from Packs, you have a solid defender in the centre. Although the Spaniard has lost some speed (70), his high defensive and physical values (88/84) make him a solid choice for the first few months. There are faster alternatives in Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe. The same applies to the next PSG newcomer Achraf Hakimi: The right-back is one of the fastest full-backs in the game with 95 pace and can make the game fast on the right flank.
However, EA’s first eleven is still missing one player who should be mentioned: Neymar. The Brazilian star is a weapon on the left wing and could even form a threesome with PSG colleagues Mbappé and Messi. Neymar continues to be nimble, dribbling, precise in his passing and solid in his finishing. He and the other PSG stars will be a force to be reckoned with in FUT 22.
