One of the 500 new contents for the Skyrim Anniversary Edition has been revealed. And it fills an unexpected void.
The Skyrim Anniversary Edition will celebrate ten years of Skyrim in November 2021 and is said to include over 500 mods and DLCs. However, there was no list of the included content yet. And the first moving images of the new edition now present an aquarium, of all things.
The new DLC fills an unexpected gap
On Twitter, Bethesda showed a short video teaser of the new feature that will land in the Anniversary Edition. These are aquariums for your houses, which you can design in the Hearthfire addon:
Don’t tap on the glass. They don’t like that…

In addition to exhibition boards, there are also presentable glass cases for your fishy friends. “But wait a minute, fish?” you may be asking yourself now. Yes, even catching sea creatures gets an upgrade in the Anniversary Edition, as we already know that a new fishing feature will find its way into the role-playing game.
Aquariums are actually not content that has often been included in common mods so far. Which probably means either that absolutely no one is interested in fish exhibits in Skyrim, or that Bethesda is filling a smart gap here – we’ll see. At the moment, fans are mainly concerned about their existing content. Because, according to the developers, the new version will once again render all your mods unusable. This would also affect projects like the biggest Skyrim mod of all time Beyond Skyrim:
The Skyrim Anniversary Edition will be released in time for the anniversary on November 11, 2021.
What do you think about the new content? Cool detail or completely useless? And what DLCs and mods would you like to see in the Anniversary Edition? Tell us in the comments!
