Some players run with the handbrake on in FUT 22. Well-known names such as Hummels, Kroos, Pique and Maguire are among the lame ducks.
Anyone who has played FIFA for more than three games knows it: no matter how high a player’s stats are, how adept he may be on the ball, what accuracy is in his blood – in the end it usually comes down to pace.
Good values with Hummels and Co. – but the drive…
It is well known that Mats Hummels is no speedster. Nevertheless, EA attests him a truly shocking report card with just 56 points on speed. The German veteran thus has to rely entirely on his heading and tackling skills. While it is mostly defenders who struggle with weak legs, German midfield star Toni Kroos also lines up at 53 points. Thiago Silva and James Rodriguez also see their qualities elsewhere.
Manchester United’s Harry Maguire also fails to impress with his woeful 50 points, a score he shares with Daniel Parejo Muñoz. But it is the pace of Sergio Busquets Burgos that might be the most shocking. Equipped with a stately 86 points of total strength, his running power bobs around at a sad 42 points.
But despite everything, these are players who do not embody known greats of the world for no reason. The true dregs of forward movement in the gold-card area are represented by Jannik Vestergaard, ex-Bundesliga pro Dante, Costa Santos and José Miguel da Rocha Fonte. No more than 32 points are put on the pitch by these lame slugs in FIFA 22.
Slowest is only possible with a few players, most of whom were rated silver or bronze. The three slowest players in FUT 22 ever are all from America: Colombian Larry Vásquez, Ronny Montero from Bolivia and Mexican Luis Madrigal. All three have a speed of only 28 and thus bring up the rear in the latest title from EA Sports.
