GlobalESportNews: What are your key takeaways from previous PC ports of Final Fantasy games?

Hiroshi Takai, Director, Final Fantasy 16:We were careful not to set the minimum and recommended specifications too high. We also made sure that there are many configuration options so that each player can customize their own experience.

These are the system requirements:

Minimum requirements:

Operating system: Windows 10 / 11 64-bit
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 / Intel Core i5-8400
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5700 / Intel Arc A580 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
DirectX: Version 12
Disk space: 170 GB available disk space
Additional Notes: 30FPS at 720p expected. SSD required. VRAM 8GB or above

Recommended:

Operating system: Windows 10 / 11 64-bit
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X / Intel Core i7-10700
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080

Additional Notes: 60FPS at 1080p expected. SSD required. VRAM 8GB or above

GlobalESportNews: Will there be new features in the PC version, as was the case with Final Fantasy 15? For example, 120 FPS support? What about Ultra Wide?

Takai:Unfortunately, the game will not support Ultra Wide at launch, but it will support up to 240fps. Upscaling technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS3, AMD FSR and Intel XeSS will also be supported. And of course you can play with mouse and keyboard

GlobalESportNews: WillMini-Sokenbe included in the PC version?

Takai: It will! Everything from the PS5 version is there

GlobalESportNews: What do you think about mod support?

Naoki Yoshida, Producer, Final Fantasy 16:We have a lot of PC players on the FF16 team who are into modding, myself included. Although it can be fun to play with mods, installing mods comes with its own risks. The most important thing is not to create or install anything that is offensive or inappropriate.

GlobalESportNews: In the past, performance issues have sometimes been a problem with the latest ports and also with the PS5 version, how do you plan to improve performance?

Takai:We have spent a lot of time adjusting the optimization settings for different CPUs and GPUs. In addition, we have added options that allow you to make a lot of different settings.
