During the Fanfest for the popular online MMORPG, Square Enix has revealed new information about Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail. In addition to a comprehensive trailer for the new expansion, there are also videos of new areas and dungeons as well as a new city and a new race.
As usual, Square Enix kicked off the still young year 2024 with the Final Fantasy XIV Fanfest. During the event, it was revealed that the MMORPG community now has 30 million registered players.
On the other hand, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida shared new information about the upcoming expansion Dawntrail. Don’t get too excited too soon though. A launch date was not revealed.
The Pictomancer’s new job
During the Fanfest, the new job of the Pictomancer in Dawntrail was unveiled. This brush-wielding mage creates weapons as well as creatures and landscapes using the mixed aether
As you can see, the Pictomancer needs a certain amount of time to create. However, like other classes, it has some abilities that can be cast more quickly. You can find out more about the new class in the (corresponding video).
The female Hrothgar: The new class in Dawntrail
In addition to the new job, the new class of Dawntrail has also been introduced: the female Hrothgar. Originating from Tural Tural , the race consists of only a few women, but their muscular physique makes them easy to spot.
What skills the new race brings with it has not yet been revealed. Instead, a gameplay video only shows some running and warm-up sequences.
New region & New city
A new gameplay video shows various new regions of Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail. This includes the (Heritage Found), which is covered in thick thunderclouds. Despite this eclipse, there is a certain beauty in the region, for which, among other things, lightning energies are responsible.

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail is the fifth expansion to the popular MMO and is scheduled for release this summer for PC, PlayStation and Xbox Series X|S.
