The producer of Final Fantasy 16 has confirmed that the PC version of the role-playing game is currently in development. He also announced DLCs.

Are you eagerly waiting to finally experience Final Fantasy 16 on PC? Ever since the PC version was announced at the very end of a trailer, it had been pretty quiet about it. But now there’s good news from producer Naoki Yoshida himself: the PC version is currently in the works and there are also several DLCs coming.

What is the status of the PC version?

Yoshida confirmed via X (formerly Twitter) that the PC version of Final Fantasy 16 is currently being worked on. There is no release date for it yet, but there should be another update before the end of 2023 – possibly a timeframe for the planned release will be announced then. We think sometime in 2024 is realistic.

What was said about DLCs?

In the same video, Yoshida also talked about at least two expansions for Final Fantasy 16 to be released as paid DLCs:

…] one thing that came across particularly strongly was that people wanted to see more of Valisthea’s story and spend more time with its inhabitants. To accommodate this, the development team has begun work on two DLCs.

What exactly they will be about is not yet known, nor are the planned release dates and price. We’ll keep you up to date!

Just a few weeks ago, publisher SquareEnix was disappointed with Final Fantasy 16, although the role-playing game sold well and received many very good reviews but they had hoped for even better figures. But they had hoped for even better numbers, which didn t work out due to the long PS5 shortage.

Surely the publisher hopes for a second spring for Final Fantasy 16 through the release of the PC version.

As always, we also want to read your opinion on the topic: Are you happy that Final Fantasy 16 will be coming to the PC in the foreseeable future? Did you wait to buy it or do you already own the game on the PlayStation 5? Did you have doubts in the meantime whether the announced version would be released at all?
