Final Fantasy 7 is coming to PC this month. A new trailer is designed to get fans excited, but they can’t see what’s being celebrated.

On January 23, 2025, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be released for the PC. A new trailer not only shows you scenes from the game, but also names the improvements that have been made to the graphics.

Short sequences even show what the game looks like on low, medium, and high graphics settings. What is actually very cool is being ridiculed by fans, because the differences are probably only seen by those who programmed them.

What did the trailer want to show you?

The developers have once again made a few adjustments before you can play it in two weeks. Among other things, the trailer promises:

  • Improved lighting
  • Improved optics
  • NVIDIA DLSS functionality (faster frame rate and upscaled image quality)
  • Numerous graphics options

Among the graphics options, you can choose from

Like a visit to the optician

In the subreddit pcmasterrace speculation abounds as to what is actually supposed to be seen in the images. Because it can’t be the graphical differences.

The user mikhaelcool7, who obviously couldn’t find any difference, started it. He asked the question: What am I supposed to be looking at?

It’s like when the ophthalmologist examines you and keeps asking, “Is this clearer or is this clearer?” when he changes between lenses, and you say, “They all look the same!”

The answer comes from user SpankyMcFlych, and another user wonders whether the low setting is good enough or whether the graphics settings are not doing anything.

Occasionally, there are voices saying that the screenshot does not reflect the image correctly. But on the whole, the community agrees: the differences are not visible.

Judge for yourselves

Whether the game or the graphics perform better than the trailer can be found out on January 23, 2025 at the latest. In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you fight against the ruthless Shinra Company. You take on the role of Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra’s elite unit. The whole thing is a remake of the 1997 role-playing game.
