Before the Hot Wheels DLC arrives in July, players can get familiar with some new cars and features.
The time is almost here: Forza Horizon 5’s first major DLC is in the starting blocks. The Hot Wheels expansion is scheduled for release on 19 July. In addition, a thick patch was released on 21 June. The Series 9 update includes a new monthly event and enhanced graphics settings, as well as some new cars that will be unlockable over the next few days. You can see the trailer for the upcoming DLC right here:
What’s new?
We summarise the most important changes for you here:
Graphics Settings: Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA) is now available in the settings. In contrast to the older Multi-Sample Anti-Aliasing (MSAA), it ensures that several previous images are included in the calculation of the current image. This means that the performance of your PC is not put to the test quite as much as it was before.
Story Co-op: Forza Horizon’s story missions can now be played with up to five friends.
New Event: The Forza EV is a Rivals event where you have to beat the best time. Every month there’s a new track to master.
Forza Horizon, by the way, is also available in Microsoft’s Game Pass, along with other big AAA titles
New cars: Lots of new cars are making it into the game. Four of them will be unlockable within the next days and weeks. To do so, you have to earn 20 points in the festival playlist in the respective week.
- 2018 Hot Wheels 2JetZ: Free to play between 23/06 and 29/06.
- 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula-S: Mustang available between 30 Jun and 06 Jul.
- 1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee: The Super Bee is available to unlock between 07 July and 13 July.
- 1957 Hot Wheels Nash Metropolitian Custom: You can get this car from 07/14 – 07/20.
The following cars are included in the update, but can either only be earned via Wheelspin or unlocked in the upcoming DLC:
- 2012 Hot Wheels Rip Rod
- 1949 Hot Wheels Ford F-5 Dually Custom Hot Rod
- 2005 Hot Wheels Ford Mustang
And those who have the Car Pass also have access to these vehicles:
- 2021 Aston Martin DBX
- 2020 Lexus RC F Track Edition
- 2019 Nissan 370z Nismo
