Forza Horizon 5 can also be played on Android and iOS devices. We explain how it works and what you need to do it.
Forza Horizon 5 has been available since 9 November 2021 and is still being played by hundreds of thousands of players on PC and Xbox. But did you know that you can also play today’s best racing game on the go on your smartphones or tablets?
While there is no native Forza Horizon 5 Mobile, thanks to Microsoft’s streaming service you can even experience the real game on the go. We explain how this works and what you need for it in our short guide.
How to play Forza Horizon 5 on mobile and tablet
What you need
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: Since Xbox Cloud Gaming (formerly known as Project Xcloud) is only offered as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you will need the appropriate membership here. The normal Game Pass for Windows is not enough. At least you don’t have to buy Forza Horizon 5 separately, as it’s part of the Game Pass library.
Android or iOS device: If you want to play on the go or somewhere in your home, you will also need a suitable Android or iOS smartphone or tablet. Android devices are supported with operating system version 6.0 or higher, while Apple users need iOS 14.4 or higher on the device of their choice.
Controller: Although there are selected games that provide integrated touch controls in their streaming version, Forza is not one of them. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary that you connect a compatible Bluetooth or USB controller to your smartphone or tablet. You can find a list of supported gamepads on the Microsoft website, but unlisted devices may also work.
How to play on Android
Once you have successfully connected your controller to your phone or tablet, you will then need to download the Xbox Game Pass app from the (Google Play Store).
- Launch the app and log in with your Microsoft account that has your Game Pass Ultimate membership active.
- Now search for Forza Horizon 5 and open the product page by tapping the cover or game name.
- Here you just have to press the green play button and after a short loading time you are ready to go.
How to play on iOS
* Although the Xbox Game Pass app is also available for iPhone and iPad, it does not yet support streaming. Therefore, you have to visit the website (Xbox.com/Play) in your
- browser. Currently, only Apple’s own Safari browser is supported.
- Log in here with your Microsoft account that has your Game Pass Ultimate membership active.
- Then launch Forza Horizo 5 by tapping the game cover.
