The middle of the week has arrived and on Steam that means one thing above all: insane discounts. We show you the currently most exciting offers in the mass of offers.

March remains a very quiet games month in its second week. But at least this is a good opportunity to let your eyes wander a little. You can discover a few little gems and, in the best case, even save money. As every week, Midweek Madness on Steam offers the perfect opportunity to do just that.

We swam through a sea of green percentages and looked out for the most interesting offers. In this article you will find 13 exciting games that will give you a really good time for little money.

Highlight of the week: Trine 2

(Genre: Puzzle-Platformer – Developer: Frozenbyte – Release: 7. December 2011 – Price: 4,99 Euro (reduced by 75 percent) – Offer valid until: 21 March 2022)

There are two big advantages to the Trine series currently being so heavily discounted on Steam. Firstly, these are (for the most part) quite wonderful games to spend a few very fun hours with. Secondly, these games are all even better when you play them with friends.

And you certainly know the problem that friends are not always so easily persuaded to buy a new game for a round of co-op. But when the price is no more than five euros, no good friend can really say no!

If your internet connection allows it, you can also play Trine in split screen via Remote Play Together on Steam and then only need one version. Or you can just meet in your living room – it’s entirely up to you.

Why a highlight? But no matter whether you play alone or with friends – you should definitely play this gem. Trine tells the story of three heroes in an imaginative fairytale world. From the side view, they have to explore this world, solving puzzles, mastering jumping passages and beating the crap out of annoying goblins.

Each character has different abilities and contributes in their own way to solving the puzzles. While mage Amadeus creates crates or boards, thief Zoya swings over precipices on her rope and Pontios the knight is the man for the rough stuff. The gameplay is easy-going, so you can enjoy the wonderful environments without any stress. By the way, Trine 2 is the highlight of the series, while Trine 3 is considered a black sheep.

(But for just 17 Euros you can get the whole bundle with four games)

Other exciting offers

If you don’t like Trine, don’t despair! On Steam there are currently many more and very cheap alternatives. We recommend 12 more games that are currently reduced. By the way, entire series are usually discounted. For example, you can currently get every game in the Anno series at low prices.

Timberborn: This pretty little building game is about cute beavers who build a wooden settlement after the apocalypse. It’s unusual, cute but also challenging and costs just around 17 euros.

(Steam) (GOG)

* Ghostrunner: Here you become an incredibly agile cyberpunk ninja who really cleans up with the enemies in neon-lit alleys. The game is temporarily reduced by 60 percent and costs 12 euros.

(Steam) (GOG) (Humble)

* Anno 1404: For currently just 7 Euros you can get one of the best building games of all times on Steam. Anno 1404 still looks wonderful today and plays breathlessly as usual.

(Steam) (GOG) (Humble) (Gamesplanet)

* Spyro Reignited Trilogy: The three games with the little purple dragon are real classics and have been reworked with a lot of heart for a modern audience. Currently the trilogy costs 65 percent less, landing at 14 euros.

(Steam)

* Assassins’s Creed: Origins: We don’t have to explain to anyone what Assassin’s Creed is. Origins did, however, give the series a new direction. Expect an open-world role-playing game set in ancient Egypt. 60 percent off, 12 euro purchase price.

(Steam) (Humble) (Gamesplanet)

* Warhammer: Vermintide 2: Best played together with three friends in a brutal battle against swarms of rat people. Currently priced at around 6 euros

(Steam) (Humble) (Gamesplanet)

* South Park: The Fractured But Whole: Not everyone can relate to the sometimes stubborn humour. But fans get a role-playing game that has been amazingly thoughtfully designed. At 15 euros thanks to a 75 per cent discount.

(Steam) (Humble) (Gamesplanet)

* XCOM 2: One of the best turn-based tactics games of all time. Took the genre to a new level and is rightly considered a modern classic. Belongs in every library and costs only 5 euros right now

(Steam) (Humble) (Gamesplanet)

* Operencia: The Stolen Sun: An old-school role-playing game with modern graphics. Available for only around 7 euros (70 percent off).

(Steam) (GOG) (Humble)

(Steam) (GOG) (Humble) (Gamesplanet)

* killer7: More artwork than game by popular game designer SUDA51. It has its appeal, but will also confuse or even put off many, but is considered an exciting experiment. Current price is 6 euros with a 70 percent discount.

(Steam) (Humble)

* Magicka 2: Rather dull alone, but great fun with friends. You are cuddly mages who can combine spells wildly and even burn themselves and their companions away in the process. Currently only 4 euros with a 75 per cent discount.
