The Midweek Madness is back with numerous offers. We have more than just a handful of exciting highlights for you
Savvy GlobalESportNews readers know: When we recommend games from a sale, we usually always make sure to give you a balanced mix of big triple-A titles and little indie gems.
But today we’re not going to do that. Not because we don’t like small indie gems. It’s simply because there are so many big-name games on sale on Steam at the moment that we simply can’t avoid peppering you with a whole load of hits today. There, take that!
Highlight of the week: Inscryption
(Genre: Deckbuilder – Release: October 2021 – Price:10 Euro, 50 percent discount)
Halt, stop, we’re writing something about No indies, only hits
and … launch with an indie game as the highlight? But there is a good reason for this break in content. It’s called Inscryption, has an extremely impressive 96 percent positive user reviews on Steam and has also impressed us.
So please forgive us for this little indie digression. Inscryption mixes nerve-wracking horror with a thrilling card game. The result is an unforgettable psychological trip that offers a surprising amount of playful depth.
You start your adventure in a small wooden hut, where you unceremoniously begin a card game of life and death. If you win, you advance further on the board, but your opponents also become stronger. You use your deck of cards to get to grips with the attackers
Of course, there is also a plot, because you have to escape from this predicament somehow. But we won’t tell you any more, because Inscryption is rightly described by many players as a unique experience.
Now the game hits, we promise!
From now on, only big games from big publishers with big wallets and big production budgets, I promise. The good thing about it: the titles are, without exception, devilishly good.
So if you still haven’t played one or more of the hits, you should strike now. Because many of the offers end tomorrow, Thursday!
- God of War: Kratos, the visibly aged God of War, sets off on an unforgettable journey together with his son Atreus. (25 Euro, reduced by 50 percent, offer ends on March 28)
- It Takes Two: A co-op hit in which you save Cody and May’s troubled marriage. But beware: the author of these lines can testify that the gameplay can also be a real test for the partnership. What’s so hard about jumping at the right time? Argh! (10 Euro, reduced by 75 percent, offer ends on March 28)
- Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered: The action adventure from Insomniac lets us slip into the skin of the friendly neighborhood spider in brute quality. If you have fun, you can also play the much shorter spin-off Miles Morales. (36 euros, reduced by 40 percent, offer ends on March 28)
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales: Oh, look at that! We were just talking about it. Yes, the sequel is also currently reduced. There’s more of the same in terms of gameplay – and that’s a good thing! (30 Euro, reduced by 40 percent, offer ends on March 28)
- Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew: Damn! Another indie game, but it’s just damn good. If you like stealth and strategy, this tactical gem is for you! If you’re unsure, just play the free demo first. (30 Euro, reduced by 25 percent, offer ends on April 1 (no, this is not a joke))
- Dead Space: If you like sci-fi horror with a classy look, there’s no getting around Dead Space. As mechanic Isaac Clarke, you are stranded on an abandoned space station in search of your girlfriend. Did we say
abandoned
? Well, let’s say: abandoned by humans. (24 euros, reduced by 60 percent, offer ends on March 28)
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order: As former Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis, you must confront your past and, of course, protect the galaxy from the sinister Empire. The action-adventure game entices with crisp battles and varied areas. (4 Euro, reduced by 90 percent, offer ends on March 28)
- Titanfall 2: A third installment in the shooter series just won’t appear, but the second adventure in the mechanical skin of a Titan is still thrilling to this day. The single-player campaign in particular is a highlight. (3 Euro, reduced by 90 percent, offer ends on March 28)
- Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection: The complete package for experienced treasure hunters and those who want to become one. Four fantastic action adventure games send you around the globe to uncover archaeological secrets. (25 Euro, reduced by 50 percent, offer ends on March 28)
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart: Jump&Run games are old hat? If you want to convince yourself otherwise, then play this intergalactically good adventure, which also looks outrageously good. (40 euros, reduced by 33 percent, offer ends on March 28)
- Days Gone: The open-world zombie game is a welcome guest in our sale recommendations and rightly so. If you want to explore a game world full of brain slurpers on a cool motorcycle, you’ve come to the right place. (12 Euro, reduced by 75 percent, offer ends on March 28)
- Blasphemous 2: Finally, an indie gem, okay? A tough Metroidvania Soulslike that not only challenges you, but also captivates you with its dark atmosphere. (18 Euro, reduced by 40 percent, offer ends on April 4)
