Summer is really kicking in, but Steam”s Midweek Madness still wants to give you a few arguments to sit down at the computer. Our recommendations.

As we write these lines, the sun is sizzling the land like a steak at 35 degrees outside – some take advantage of this to jump into the outdoor pool, others avoid the daylight because they don”t want to end up like those butter bars that influencers melted by the dozen with hot knives a few years ago. And you know what helps with staying inside? Good games!

There are plenty of cool games on offer in Steam”s Midweek Madness this week too – and as always, we”ve got a few recommendations for you so you don”t have to click through the clutter manually to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Let”s get started.

Highlight of the week: Fury Unleashed

(Genre: Roguelite-Baller – Release: 8. May 2020 – Developer: Awesome Game Studio – Price: 6 Euro (70 percent discount) – Offer valid until: 21 July, 7 pm)

Today we put the spotlight on a rather unknown game that nevertheless deserves the spotlight: Fury Unleashed! A 2D roguelite in which you shoot your way through monster-infested levels with 90s action heroes in order to kill everything that looks at you stupidly with pump shotgun, sword and sniper. Sounds simple, is also simple, but has a few very cool tricks.

For example, the whole game exists in a comic book. Strictly speaking, you don”t complete rooms, but panels, which can lead to you exploring areas that haven”t been coloured yet, for example. Or the drawer puts his smartphone on the screen and you see the troll comments on the net that label the comic you are shooting through as the worst trash.

Fury Unleashed is a fairly classic roguelite. Each playthrough is randomly generated, you find different weapons and challenges, after dying you can upgrade your main character to make the next playthrough less annoying and so on. For 6 euros, it”s an extremely worthwhile, entertaining experience, which can also be played in co-op.
