This week’s Summer Game Fest is expected to feature over 30 games – possibly including a new Borderlands and Season 4 of Warzone.
Not only does the long-awaited E3 2021 kick off this week, but Summer Game Fest is also entering its second round after its 2020 debut.
Produced and hosted by Geoff Keighley, the event kicks off on Thursday 10 June 2021 at 8pm on Twitch and YouTube. So far, all that was known was that there would be at least twelve new announcements and that major developers and publishers such as Activision, 2K, Epic Games, Sony, Microsoft and Steam would be taking part in the show. In addition, the new season of CoD Warzone will be unveiled.
Keighley himself provided additional info via Twitter on what gaming fans can expect at the show.
CoD Warzone: Season 4 to be revealed
Season reveal: Summer Game Fest will see the first showing of the new Season 4 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops: Cold War. So far, there’s very little info on what new content will be hitting the Battle Royale – presumably Activision has a few surprises hidden up its sleeve. After all, the strong competitor Battlefield 6 will also be unveiled, so CoD will have to come up with something to not disappear in the shadows.
We expect at least one spectacular trailer, such videos are published at every season launch anyway. A map reveal would of course be a huge surprise, but is very unlikely. After all, Verdansk ’84 is only a few months old.
How to watch: The event starts on 10 June 2021 at 8pm, Activision is part of the opening event. So tune in right at the start to make sure you don’t miss anything! Youtube will have the full stream live.
Over 30 games in the Summer Game Fest – including a new Borderlands?
As you know from other events, you can look forward to a fast-paced show in which one new trailer will follow the next. There are no concrete details about the participating games, but there is a first trailer:
.
The video shows scenes from upcoming games such as Overwatch 2, Life is Strange: True Colors, Far Cry 6, Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Riders Republic, among others – so it’s quite possible that there could be news about the titles shown.
What you will definitely get to see: Via Twitter, Summer Game Fest announced that they will unveil the new game from Gearbox and 2K Games. It is expected to be a new game in the Borderlands universe, which could possibly be called Tiny Tina’s Wonderland;
However, there are not only new games to marvel at: Actors Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park) and Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Mandalorian) have been announced as star guests. The latter plays the main role of the villain in Far Cry 6 – another indication that there will be new material on the shooter. In addition, various bands are to perform, including Weezer, who landed a worldwide hit 20 years ago with “Island In The Sun”.
