The wild world on Steam is growing by the day. We show you five new games that have been well received but are living a shadowy existence
The night has clear advantages: Hardly any noisy cars on the streets, no sunshine on the monitor and those who only live at night shine with a noble facial pallor.
But joking aside, a healthy person needs sunlight, and you can also play the following five games during the day. We introduce you to five little-known new releases on Steam that have been very well received by their relatively few players
This time with nocturnal ghost hunting, grim police tactics and a building game for the soul. Have fun with our Steam insider tips for the weekend!
Midnight Ghost Hunt
(Genre: Asymmetrical horror game – Steam-Release: March 21, 2024 – Price: 20 Euro)
Midnight strikes at the witching hour, and in Midnight Ghost Hunt you are the cavalry. As a ghost hunter, you pack up your high-tech equipment and go into battle with friends or strangers against … Ghosts!
The special trick: The spectral beings are also controlled by real people. Ghosts can, for example, take the form of objects in the levels and hide so that they can strike at the right time. As a ghost hunter, on the other hand, you use various gadgets to track down and capture the ghosts. Preferably before midnight, because then the restless souls become overpowering, you turn from hunters to hunted and a fight to the death begins.
No Plan B
(Genre: Tactical-Simulation – Steam-Release: April 3, 2024 – Price: 15 Euro)
If you’re a fan of tactical games, you might No Plan B be worth a look. In the style of Door Kickers, you meticulously plan every move of your special unit. They have to solve various conflict situations, such as bank robberies or personal protection for VIPs.
So you coordinate every step to perfectly time every door breach and every incendiary grenade. The aim is to orchestrate the unit through the levels as efficiently and safely as possible. The game opts for a more realistic approach thematically, but relies on a low-poly style for the graphics.
If you like the theme but prefer a realistic graphic style, we can recommend Door Kickers 2: Task Force North.
Summerhouse
(Genre: House Building Sandbox – Steam-Release: March 8, 2024 – Price: 5 Euro)
Stress is bad, now for real
, as the doctors Die Ärzte already knew 20 years ago. In the Steam game Summerhouse by German developers, you can switch off after a busy day while you build pretty little houses and neighborhoods. No pressure, no boss breathing down your neck, just relax a little
Summerhouse is all about creative freedom. You can build your charming summer house any way you like, simply add a few dormer windows with the click of a mouse and watch the virtual residents enjoy themselves. When you are satisfied, simply build the next house until you have a small settlement to your liking. And don’t worry, the stress of everyday life will certainly still be there on Monday
Not to your taste? No problem, we’ve collected ten more Cozy Games for you.
Spiritfall
(Genre: Hack&Slash – Steam-Release: February 28, 2024 – Price: 20 Euro)
In the action-heavy Roguelike Spiritfall you fight against increasingly difficult opponents. And on platforms, which is reminiscent of multiplayer hits like Smash Bros or Brawlhalla only for single players and not against human players.
In the course of a run, you learn new moves to give your opponents a good kicking. And when you inevitably die, you can keep overriding bonuses depending on your progress so that you can do better on your next attempt. As usual for roguelikes, screen death is an integral part of the game design
Holo X Break
(Genre: Beat ’em up – Steam-Release: March 29, 2024 – Price: free)
Holo X Break also packs a punch, and it’s free. If you like the exaggerated anime style, you can beat your wacky characters through endless hordes of minions trying to take over the world
The gameplay changes based on the random weapons and items you find on each run. The gameplay is heavily inspired by sidescrolling brawler games that used to be popular in arcades.
