With the jump to version 1.0, a whole host of major new features have been added to the survival game. And they ensure a new record in player numbers

Early Access on Steam doesn’t necessarily have the best reputation. Time and again, games end up here whose further development stalls after a short time or is even completely discontinued. This leaves many players disappointed and angry

In contrast,7 Days to Die is a success story, even though the survival gamewas only available as an alpha versionin Early Access for over 11 years. Thanks to regular, major updates and successful gameplay, however, the player base continued to grow over the years. And with the release of version 1.0, a new player record has now been set

Record numbers at the weekend

Fans had obviously been eagerly awaiting the full release of 7 Days to Die, which had been announced weeks earlier. Because the weekend after its release, the survival gamereached its highest player numbers to dateOver 125,000 playersfought their way through the zombie apocalypse at the same time on Sunday.

What’s 7 Days to Die all about?

In the survival game you have to survive in a destroyed world populated by zombies. You collect resources and equipment, craft everything from a stone axe to a mini helicopter and build a base that can withstand the regular attacks of zombie hordes. You can experience all of this alone, in co-op or even with human opponents.

What’s in the update?

The new update includes extensive changes to the gameplay, graphics and many other game elements. We briefly summarize the most important things for you:

  • New character models:Your character and the NPCs have been completely reworked with new textures and animations and now look much better. You can now also customize your appearance.
  • More graphics improvements:Many animals, plants and zombies now look better. Debris from explosions has also been reworked.
  • New locations:Over 70 new buildings can now appear in the world. From small huts to huge factories, almost everything is included.
  • Improved worlds:Randomly generated worlds are now created much faster. You can also select new options when creating worlds.
  • Changes to quests and crafting:When completing tasks for merchants, you will receive fewer weapons and equipment than before. This makes crafting items more important again. The best items (level 6) can now only be crafted and can no longer be found in the world.
  • New armor:All previous sets have been replaced by 16 new, much fancier armor sets consisting of only four slots. If you wear a complete set, you will also receive specific skill bonuses.
  • New vehicles:All vehicles have been given completely new models. There are also new modifications that visibly change your vehicles.
  • Performance improvements:The game has been further optimized to increase your FPS.
  • New dialog lines:Merchants now have a lot more to say. There are thousands of new dialog lines in total.
