In the new gameplay trailer for Total War: Warhammer 3, two huge armies clash and impressively demonstrate the scale that the battles in the game can reach.
The scenes show how the war machine of the Grand Imperial Empire of Cathay – incidentally a new and very special faction in the game – defends the so-called Great Bastion, which is under attack by Tzeentch forces. The chaos god Kairos Doomweaver leads a legion of demons against the fortress.
The developers themselves say: “In defending this great settlement, players will be able to take advantage of new features that allow for even better strategic interaction. This includes the possibility to construct turrets and barricades inside the settlement. This allows players to create veritable corridors of death in case the enemy breaches the outer walls.”
Why do the makers put so much emphasis on this demonstration? The answer: as far as sieges are concerned, Warhammer 3 wants to make up for one of the biggest weaknesses of its predecessors!
