Warhammer 40K is being made into a movie and/or TV series by Amazon. And Henry Cavill is on board. An important step forward has now been taken
A new sign of life has finally emerged from the planned film adaptation of Warhammer 40K, for which Henry Cavill not only wants to be in front of the camera. The project was announced around a year ago, but since then it has gone quiet.
Now the rights holders and producers of the Warhammer 40K adaptation, Game Workshop, are back in a (Blogpost) and report that they have succeeded in taking an important step forward . As a result, a contract has been agreed with Amazon, which lays the foundation for a whole universe of Warhammer programs .
Supposed to be: Warhammer 40K could not only become a TV series on Amazon, a movie is currently not ruled out either. In fact, those responsible at Game Workshop are optimistic, no, even enthusiastic, about launching a movie and a TV series at the same time.
What does Henry Cavill have to do with Warhammer 40K now?
Henry Cavill will also play an important role in the ongoing development process. The actor from productions such as The Witcher, Man of Steel or Mission: Impossible – Fallout is an avowed fan of Warhammer 40K and is notorious among fans as a tabletop enthusiast.
For the planned film adaptation(s), Cavill is now on board as executive producer and thus heavily involved in the creative process.
A little patience is still required
When exactly Warhammer 40K will continue remains to be seen. Fans must therefore continue to exercise patience until a concrete release date for a film or TV series by and with Henry Cavill arrives.
This is also emphasized by Game Workshop in their blog post. The fact that it can take two to three years for a cinema or TV production to get off the ground is more than usual for the industry. Thanks to the contractual agreement with Amazon, however, those responsible are confident that they can now really get going and are promising further updates and info bites in the coming months.

In an interview with (IGN) back in 2021, Henry Cavill revealed that the film adaptation was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and a project close to his heart. Should the venture be crowned with success, it would be a lifelong dream come true
