Did a retailer let the cat out of the bag? He mentioned a few previously unknown titles that are set to be released in 2025. Among them: The Legend of Zelda!

Anyone who believed that the constant leaks surrounding the Switch 2 would stop after the official unveiling of the console will now see that this is not the case. Just on January 22, 2025, a new potential leak took place, which we are categorizing for you.

The prominent main actors this time:

What is this leak about?

The source of the new alleged game info is the website Newegg This is a mail order company for consumer electronics, games and hardware.

Newegg also offers gift cards for the Nintendo eShop. Now it gets exciting: So that the grandmas and grandpas out there also know what their grandchildren can buy with the credit, Newegg kindly lists some titles that are still to be released in 2025 in the product description.

The list now reads as follows:

  • Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
  • New 3D Mario
  • New Mario Kart
  • A Legend of Zelda Remake/Remaster
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition
  • Pokémon Legends: Z-A

What makes this list special: Just a few hours ago, the new 3D Mario and the Zelda remake/remaster were removed from the list However, you can still find the original image on Reddit. It’s quite possible that Nintendo sent its ninjas to Newegg. However, this measure has not necessarily made the leak any less credible.

Is a remake of Ocarina of Time coming?

We can deal with the Italian plumber and proud moustache wearer in just a few sentences. It’s no surprise that a fresh 3D adventure is coming as a successor to Super Mario Odyssey, in addition to the new Mario Kart that has already been shown. It is rumored that Nintendo is preparing the release for the Christmas season, similar to what happened with Odyssey.

Much more exciting is the mention of the Zelda remake/remaster. There are two possibilities here, which have been circulating in the rumor mill for many months:

  • The Switch 2 will get the long-awaited remastered versions of The Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD, which have so far only been released for the outdated Wii U. An announcement of the remaster has been expected for the Switch 1 for over two years. Perhaps Nintendo wants to ignite the fan boost directly on the Switch 2.
  • Nintendo fires the nostalgia rocket at us and releases a remake of the legendary Ocarina of Time to kick off the Switch 2 era in style. Recently, an insider hinted at big announcements for this winter – with OoT link as image

. Another explanation for Newegg’s insider knowledge could, of course, be that it was simply the nocturnal fantasy of an employee, which he acted out while typing the product description. Nintendo fans among us can understand him, right?

What would you rather be happy about? A new 3D Mario or a big remake of a The Legend of Zelda adventure? Feel free to tell us in the comments!
