One Military Camp doesn’t take itself too seriously, but already offers a lot of building fun in the early version. It will be released on 20 July with a free update.

Who of you has always dreamed of building the best army camp in the world? No one? Okay, but One Military Camp is still pretty fun if you like building games with a sense of humour.

The mix of base-building, management and economic sim will be released on Steam and Epic on 20 July 2023, after four months in Early Access – where it has already collected very good ratings. It currently has 82 percent positive user reviews on Steam. The drill also convinced us in our Early Access test.

What is One Military Camp?

The whole world is occupied by enemies…. The whole world? No! A camp populated by indomitable soldiers won’t stop resisting the conqueror. Okay, we stole the intro from Asterix, but it also applies amazingly well to One Military Camp. In it, you defend the last free spot in the world and want to liberate all the other occupied countries again. And yes, you can choose your own anthem.

But don’t worry, this isn’t about the horrors of war, the game is fluffy, colourful and often winks at you. You can also see it here in the launch trailer:

The game was already available on Steam as Early Access since March 2023, since then a lot has happened: a sandbox mode was added, the campaign got more possible choices and so on.

Most user reviews praise the game, criticism comes from the sometimes confusing management options and the waiting times, which some feel reminded of browser games.

For the release of the 1.0 version, there’s another huge and free update that is supposed to give One Military Camp more scope.

This is new in the release version:

  • Two new biomes (sand desert and jungle)
  • Leaderboards
  • Twitch Integration
  • Balancing and visual updates

Is a console version coming? One Military Camp will be released for PC (and Steam Deck) only for now, with a console version to be announced at some point in the future.

For the PC release, you can get a 30 percent discount on One Military Camp for one week (valid from 20 July at (Steam) and (Epic). Normally, the build-up game costs 30 euros.

We are interested in your opinion: Is One Military Camp already on your wish list, have you played it in Early Access or do you rather prefer other settings for fun build-up games – for example Two Point Hospital or Two Point Campus? Feel free to write us in the comments how you like the game at first sight.
