On September 9th, the highly anticipatedthird-person action game Warhammer 40,000:Space Marine 2 will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC. In a recently released gameplay preview trailer from Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive, creative director Oliver Hollis-Leickgives a comprehensive look at the game’s main campaign, multiplayer modes and progression mechanics.

The epic return of Lieutenant Titus

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 continues the story of the legendary Ultramarines Lieutenant Demetrian Titus, 100 years after the events of the first game. Players once again take on the role of Titus and fight against the menacing Tyranids to defend the Empire. The storyline promises intense combat and epic battles in which Titus’ superhuman abilities and extensive arsenal of weapons play a central role. Players can experience the campaign alone or in co-op mode with up to two friends, acting as Titus’ battle brothers Chairon and Gadriel.

Customization options and game modes

Space Marine 2 offers a wide range of customization options for the Space Marines and their equipment. Players can choose between six different classes. Fighter, Assault Soldier, Vanguard, Bulwark, Sniper and Heavy Unit. The armor and weapons can be customized. In the PvE mode “Operations”, armor data and experience gained on the battlefield can be used. This unlocks up to 25 advantages per class. These advantages influence the play style and allow weapons to be upgraded to new, more powerful variants. The cosmetic content earned in “Operations” mode is also available in the PvP mode “Eternal War”. The advantages and weapon improvements, on the other hand, are reserved exclusively for PvE for reasons of game balance.

Continuous expansions and free updates

A notable feature of Space Marine 2 is the promise of continuous expansions and free updates after release. New missions, enemies and weapons will be added regularly to keep the game experience fresh and exciting. In addition, there will be new PvP arenas and cosmetic content inspired by the various Space Marine Orders. This cosmetic content will be available via a Season Pass, while microtransactions or in-game premium stores are not planned. This policy is to ensure that all players are treated equally and will not incur additional costs for full access to the game content.
