According to a leak, you can look forward to at least four small regions that you can freely explore in the upcoming DLC for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla – and all for free!
Ubisoft is in a spending mood: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is getting a free Niflheim DLC. As our colleagues from GlobalESportNews already reported, you will probably be able to freely explore at least four small regions in the upcoming addon.
In the anniversary video for 15 years of Assassin’s Creed, even more content and free DLCs were announced. Among other things, the trailer for Niflheim is also included, feel free to take a look:
Four Open Worlds?
As revealed in a video by AndyReloads clues to four new regions have been discovered in the Game Files. These locations have the following epithets in the Files:
- Cold
- Dark
- Fog
- Hel (one of the nine worlds in Norse mythology)
But the leaks don’t stop there. The first pictures of the regions have already surfaced. Interestingly, there are apparently six different locations to be seen, so maybe there are even more to explore. You can see the pictures in the following video by AndyReloads at minute 03:18:

In each region there should be a house with a boss enemy. To get to the next region, you will probably have to defeat it first. A bridge of sorts will then appear, leading you to the next location.
Gameplay Changes: The new DLC will also apparently rely on Roguelite elements, with a random starting point and run counter. You’ll also be able to find new weapons and armour.
When is the release?
Again, there is no official date yet, but it could be soon. If the current rhythm is maintained, the next update for Valhalla will be released on 02 August 2022, exactly five weeks after update 1.5.3. It is likely that the free DLC will be released on the same day.
Are you looking forward to the Nilfheim DLC or would you have preferred a more realistic setting? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
