Acclaimed SWAT shooter Ready or Not unveils DLC with new missions and weapons

Ready or Not is getting its first paid expansion with the DLC Home Invasion. And there’s a lot in it

Ready or Notis and remains an exceptional shooter. Developed as the debut work of a completely new studio, the game successfully brought back what we thought was lost forever: the charm of the old SWAT shooters, above all SWAT 4. Tough co-op missions, crisp AI and adrenaline-fuelled missions in which we avoid fatal shots wherever possible – both to others and to ourselves.

The shooter was already a hit in Early Access, the release version then offered a completely revised single-player campaign – and now, a few months later, the first paid story DLC is being released. Home Invasion gives you new missions and weapons for 10 euros, so let’s find out what’s inside

What does Ready or Not: Home Invasion offer?

In Home Invasion, you are once again transported to the fictional US city of Los Suenos, but this time in the aftermath of a devastating hurricane. The storm has devastated parts of the city and the SWAT unit is fighting to restore order – which means you’ll be throwing yourself into three new maps: Greenside, 213 Park and Redwood. All three maps are marked by the storm to varying degrees, you can get a first glimpse here:

In addition, three new weapons await you:

  • The FN 509 as a new pistol.
  • The MP17 PDW as a new submachine gun.
  • The AR-15 variant DDM4 PDW as a new assault rifle.

It’s not as if Ready or Not is lacking in weapons, but three more new guns certainly won’t hurt. As usual, you can play the new missions solo or in co-op, but we don’t yet know the exact scope of the missions.

Home Invasion is the first of two planned DLC expansions for 2024. The second is due to be released in the summer, followed by the next major update for the basic version of the game in the fall with patch 1.2. You won’t have to wait long for Home Invasion itself: The DLC will be released on Steam on July 23, 2024 and, as mentioned, will cost 10 euros.
