The streamer “MsDirtyBird” falsely claimed to be suffering from a brain tumour and lung cancer. To the outrage of the community, she now announced she would be hosting the Slips Rocket League Championship.
Rocket League streamer “MsDirtyBird” has returned to creating gaming content after her fake cancer diagnosis went viral.
In her “official” apology video, she explained that she “didn’t realise” the lie was something she “couldn’t get out of. ”
This is my real and official apology. I'm sorry to everyone that I hurt personally, professionally and emotionally.
I'm sorry to Kriptic_Games, TriHouse, SwornRL, Paralakz, Mousa021, MG_HOMIE, Wawas, and anyone that took time out of their day to defend mehttps://t.co/C35oEurdTO— MsDirtyBird (@MsDirtyBird91) August 30, 2021
New announcement shocks community
The Rocket League community is far from over the scandal of the female streamer, and already there is a need for further discussion.
Not even a month after her apology video, “MsDirtyBird” announced that she would be hosting the Slips Rocket League Championships.
As a result, she and the tournament organiser were heavily criticised by the community. For example, one Twitter user wrote: “It’s absolutely disgusting to provide and promote a platform to someone who has done vile, horrible and proven fraudulent things. Get it right, and get it right fast if you want to keep me and others as potential viewers.”
Others in the Rocket League community also stated that they would no longer watch due to their presence.

Please read this twit longer and retweet to spread the word about this. I love the Rocket League community and do not want any creator or community to be plagued by this. https://t.co/gnbtkBMi9u pic.twitter.com/UyC2Ow8im3
