Actually, Gareth Evans finished shooting his latest action film Havoc four years ago. The first images showing Tom Hardy in the leading role are only now available.

You love proper action cinema where people really kick some serious ass? Then you should keep an eye on the new film by Gareth Evans. The director of The Raid 1 and 2 and the TV series Gangs of London is back in 2025 with his latest film: Havoc.

Gareth Evans simmers up an action soup for Netflix

In the project, which is described as a fast-paced, glowing action thriller with ties to Hong Kong cinema, Tom Hardy takes on the leading role. Hardy plays a cop named Walker who, after a drug deal goes wrong, has to save the son of a mayor (Forest Whitaker) from trouble.

Havoc is scheduled to start on Netflix in early 2025 – a specific release date is currently not known. In fact, the movie has been a long time coming: announced over five years ago, Havoc was actually already shot in 2019. However, it failed for a very long time to find a date for re-shoots.

But now, the first images of Havoc are finally available, one of which Empire has shared exclusively, while a few more come directly from Netflix. Take a look for yourself:

An official trailer is still a long time coming. But anyone who loves Gareth Evans’ The Raid films should know exactly what to expect from Netflix in early 2025: a good kick in the teeth.

The Raid 1 and 2 are considered modern action classics that inspire both fans and critics alike. In 2020, Evans was responsible for the excellent TV series Gangs of London, which is comparably rough.

For example, Zack Snyder is working on a new action thriller for Netflix, but it is much smaller than Rebel Moon or Army of the Dead. Next year, two new Predator films are also planned, both of which are based on an unusual concept.

Meanwhile, the head of the James Bond franchise has revealed what the new 007 should look like. More details can be found in the corresponding articles.
