The strategy giant Age of Empires 4 from Microsoft has hit like a bullet from a tribok! Now the developers have announced in a roadmap how they will continue to supply the game with content, updates and improvements. The feedback from the players was taken into account and integrated into the first patches. We present the content that awaits you in Age of Empires 4 over the next six months.
The Age of Empires 4 Roadmap
The first major update will be released this winter and is expected to bring more than 100 balancing changes. For example, the readability of the minimap will be optimised and there will also be improvements to the interface and the hotkeys. In addition, there are numerous bug fixes and performance improvements requested by players and streamers, which round off the update with the name “Winter 2021”. One frequently mentioned point was the difficulty level of the AI. Starting with the new patch, the AI will now act in a tactically smarter way and in a way that corresponds to the difficulty levels. According to the roadmap, however, the really exciting changes and new content will only be available at the beginning of next year.
More content from spring 2022
The spring update, for which there is no concrete date yet, is all about new content. As usual, there will of course be balance adjustments and various bug fixes. However, fans are already eagerly awaiting one new feature. The implementation of the UGC Creation Tools gives players and modders the opportunity to recreate their own missions or historical battles. Of course, everyone will benefit from this by being able to download and play the creations made by the community.
Age of Empires 4 will become a real live service game with the start of the seasons sometime in spring 2022. From then on, the game will be constantly supplied with new content and thus also unique new factions. So far, the developers have only announced that the Season faction will not be the Vikings. Upcoming roadmaps will probably reveal more about this.
